A painting I did when I was overwhelmed with grief over all the abused children and babies in the world. Nothing planned, just painted what came to mind.

Rainbow Painting Series
This is a series of paintings that I really enjoyed doing. It started out as me finger painting the background, then adding black strokes to it. Then, I started to see pictures in the black paint, and it grew from there. What do you see? Can you see mountains and hills? Or, what happens if you turn your head sideways and look at them longways? What do you see now?
I've hung them up in my apartment, on the wall that separates my kitchen from the dining room.

Storm Crow Painting
A painting of my favorite bird in flight. Love crows! I used to go feed hundreds of them that would gather in the Safeway parkinglot out in Silverdale, WA. I'm sure the store owners loved me. :)

Roll Tide, Alabama! Painting
A painting I did of my hubby. He's a bit of an Alabama fan, lol. I have yet to finish it, though I mean to at some point. Just have to finish the ear and neck and I think I would be happy with it. Anyway, that's just one of the perks of being a crazy artist. Not being able to finish one piece, before moving on to the next. :)

Paul 'Bear' Bryant Drawing
This drawing of Bear Bryant, the famous Alabama football coach, was done with a 2B pencil. My hubby is a huge Alabama fan, so there are tons of books around here to practise drawing from.

Fairy Tale Girl Painting
This was a random concept that came to me a few years ago when I was bored and couldn't think of anything to do. I've always been fascinated with fairy tales and I wanted to do something that felt like it should be in a child's storybook. I wonder what her story is?

Family Portrait
This is a portrait I drew for my husband's mom to give to her sister. These three people have sadly all passed away, but it was nice to be able to do this in their memory.
These are the three pictures I had to draw from. They were all in picture frames, and since the glass likes to reflect everything, the quality of them isn't so good. Still, you get a general idea. I really love doing portraits!

Together Again Painting
This painting is very dear to my heart. I got the idea for this when I was sitting beside my grandma in hospice as she was slowly leaving this earth. She was laying there barely breathing, and all I could think about was how wonderful it was going to be for her to finally be with her true love again, who left the earth 8 years before. I got the picture in my mind of my grandpa meeting her in heaven, and taking her in his arms, and kissing her like this.
I based it on the famous photo of the sailor kissing the nurse in time square. It was a gift for my mom.
Mermaid Painting
This is a painting I did for my bathroom, because I wanted an aquatic mermaid type theme. I used mixed media with this one. Acrylic paint, sequins on the tail, glitter on the seaweed, and tissue paper in the background. It was actually really fun to paint.
Angel Painting
This is a painting I did showing a girl dancing in a garden with her deceased grandpa. It was done with acrylic paint, and I used myself and my hubby as models.
The First Post
Hello,
I am starting this blog to help display my artwork, until I can get a website started. I don't know how much I'm going to have to learn about website design, but I am sure there are more than enough resources out there that can help me.
My artwork is extremely personal to me, and has been a big part of my life ever since I was a little girl. I remember most of my works being created in church while the pastor was preaching. Restaurants were also a great help to my budding talent, because they always gave me crayons and a kid's menu I could draw on. And my mom, bless her heart, would always keep a notebook and pens on her at all times, in case I wanted to doodle.
Throughout my life, there have been many friends and acquaintances who have encouraged me to do something with my talent. And I've had people pay me to draw portraits for them, but I never actually pursued anything beyond those few random requests. So, I guess this is my first time actually putting myself out there to see if I have something that others may actually enjoy. I don't know what's going to happen, but I do know that if I can share myself through my art, and actually have people who appreciate it, a part of my life will feel fulfilled.
So, since I have to start somewhere, here I go...
